Shuttle buses are quick, economical and 24 hours from the airport, costing AR19 one way and AR34 return. The company Manuel Tienda Leon (Avenida Santa Fe 790, y Esmeralda, Retiro, telephone 4314 3636) has a stand in the arrivals hall, outside the terminals and also in the city centre and speak English. You can be dropped off outside your accommodation, the relevant terminal, or else at their final stop outside the office in Santa Fe. If you are wanting to travel from the centre to the airport then the services leave every 30 minutes from 5am – 8.30pm. There are additional services at 4am, 9.30pm and 11.15pm.
The city bus (also known as a colectivo) takes substantially longer - allow 2 hours - but is very cheap, costing less than AR$2. The 86 runs between the city and La Bola, via the Avenida de Mayo. Once you arrive in La Boya it should be just a short taxi journey to the airport but be warned; the bus can get extremely crowded, especially if you’ve got large amounts of luggage, and the ticket machines do not accept notes.
Taxi’s and Remises (licensed mini cabs) can be found at the official stands outside the airport – ignore the unofficial drivers that approach you in the arrivals area – and cost AR$25. Radio Taxis are reliable and can be contacted on 4931 1200 or Universo 4776 1117.
All the main car hire companies are represented at the airport should you wish to explore the area around the capital. If you deside on car rental for your Buenos Aires vacation, you can make the reservation for the car of your choice online and then pick it up at the airport carhire desk.
There is a tourist Information Stand in the main hall, open 8am–8pm daily, which can provide you with maps, tour details and accommodation ideas.
